Glen Perkins and I co-hosted tonight’s MNGameNight podcast at 10:00 p.m. central time. Glen did a terrific job. We talked about a ton of topics from what he did on his off day, a movie review, plenty of talk on Twins pitchers, catchers, defense, the Rays series, the upcoming Royals series, the Gophers, and much, much more. He stuck around for a couple of minutes after the live show completed to answer a few more questions, so we really appreciate his willingness to participate in something like this. So again, head over to www.MNGameNight.com, and check it out. We would love to hear your input on the show, and what you would like to hear on the podcasts.

MINOR LEAGUE REPORT

ROCHESTER REPORT

Thursday – Rochester/Indianapolis – Postponed by Wet Grounds. Anthony Swarzak scheduled to start. Justin Huber was back in the game lineup. In the meantime, please check out www.coryhepola.com. Cory posted a video of a story he did with Red Wings outfielder David Winfree. Remember three years ago when he left the Ft. Myers team for a couple of months? This is the first time I have heard him admit what was going on at the time.

ROCKCAT RECAP

Thursday – New Britain 3, New Hampshire 2 (10 innings) – What a strange game for the Rockcats! The offense managed 17 hits in this game, but somehow they scored just three runs. Fortunately it was enough for a 10 inning win. Brian Dinkelman went 3-4 with a walk. Erik Lis was 3-3. Whit Robbins went 2-5 with his first homer of the season. Brandon Roberts, Steve Tolleson, Wilson Ramos and Matt Moses each had two hits. Cole Devries started and was incredible. He threw six shutout innings. He gave up just two hits, walked only one and struck out seven. Jose Lugo and Rob Delaney each pitched a perfect inning, including a strikeout. Anthony Slama proved himself human. He actually gave up a run and blew a save. In his inning, he gave up a run on two hits and two walks, but of course he still struck out two. But he then was credited with the Win because the Rockcats scored in the top of the 10th. Frank Mata got the save despite giving up a run on three hits in the 10th.

MIRACLE MEMOS

Thursday –Ft. Myers 1, Charlotte 2Carlos Gutierrez had another solid start, but he took the loss in this one. He gave up one run on two hits in five innings. He did walk three, and hit one, while striking out four. Spencer Steedley threw two innings and gave up a run on two hits and a walk. Kyle Waldrop threw two scoreless innings in relief to drop his ERA to 1.35. Danny Lehmann is out from under the Mauer shadow, and he went 2-2 with two walks. Chris Parmelee went 2-4 with a double. Steve Singleton went 2-4.

SNAPPERS SNIPPETS

Thursday – Beloit 6, Dayton 4Evan Bigley was 2-3 with a walk, his fourth double and two RBI. Dominic de la Osa went 2-4 with a walk and his second double. Angel Morales finally got the first home run of his season. He went 2-4 with the homer and three RBI. Michael Allen started and gave up three runs on five hits and four walks in just three innings. Steve Blevins threw three one-hit innings. Matt Williams threw two scoreless innings, and Bruce Pugh gave up a run on a hit and two walks in his inning.

Great interview Seth, lots of good questions. Its not everyday you find a big leaguer that is willing to do this kind of fan interaction and talk to about his experiences for those of us who have no idea what it is like, so props to Glen (and to Seth for just asking Glen if he would do it). Keep up the great work!
