So as you’ve noticed here the last week or so, I have been rather busy, and posts have generally been smaller, and I even missed a day or two. Life gets a little busy sometimes. So, what did I do to “help” that situation… Wrote another book! That’s right, over the last few weeks, a group of Twins bloggers including John Bonnes (The Twins Geek), Parker Hageman (Over the Baggy), Nick Nelson (Nick’s Twins Blog) and myself have joined efforts to write a book. Yes, that makes life less stressful and more relaxing!

Anyway, if you’re a baseball fan, one of your favorite times of the season is during the last half of July. Each and every team’s fan base spends countless hours thinking about and developing the perfect trade for their favorite team. Is my team a buyer or a seller? What are the strengths of the team at the big league level and deeper into the system? What are the weaknesses in the team’s lineup, defensively or on the mound? Sites like MLBTradeRumors.com are such a great thing during this time of year. But generally speaking, the Twins don’t get a lot of play nationally. So, we decided that we would help Twins fans with this situation. We have developed:

TwinsCentric

Trade Deadline Primer

2009 Edition

An Unapologetically Biased Guide to the 2009 Trade Season For Twins Fans Only

This 65 page electronic book contains over 30,000 words. It includes:

  • Breakdowns of the Twins organization, looking at needs, both now and in the future.
  • Team Reviews on the other 29 teams, looking at whether they are Buyers or Sellers, What they Need and What they Have?
  • Thoughts on over 100 players that the Twins could, or should, have some interest in.
  • Essays on the Twins situation in 2009 and 2010, what if the Twins don’t make a move, and more.
  • And a very nice foreword by Phil Mackey of KFAN’s Twins Weekly, Phil Mackey.com and the Minnesota Poker Magazine.

If this looks like something that might interest you, please consider purchasing a copy for yourself. The e-book is available online through www.e-junkie.com, and can be purchased for just $9.95. To do so, it’s really quite simple, click here to pay via paypal.

If you have any questions or comments, we have set up a separate e-mail, so send an e-mail to TwinsCentric@gmail.com.

Hey Seth. I appreciate the work you and the other guys put in on your sites and am more than happy to buy the book. Some people expect everything for free and have no idea all the work that goes into this. $10 is a heck of deal and I hope you guys do well with it to help pay for some of your time. I’ll shoot you some feedback when I’m done with the book. Keep up the good work,

    Eric

Um, wow. I couldn’t disagree more strongly with the first poster here. Love your work Seth, even if we don’t always agree. Keep it coming, book or site. I’ve learned more about the Twins’ minor leagues since I found this site than I learned in my whole life before coming here. thanks for everything you do.

Unfortunately, I can’t but agree with the first poster. I love Seth’s work. But he is now trying to sell his work which he used to post on his website for free. Not that I don’t mind paying but it is like those cable companies where they give you a promotional offer and then try taking nickel and dime for small things.

A word of advice to anyone bitching about the $10 book…

Seth, John, Parker and Nick have blogged religiously for NO PAY the last X-amount of years, and instead of donating to the cause, you bitch about $10?

    That’s really unfortunate.

Fantastic work on the primer. Happy to contribute my small part.

    ~ Phil Mackey

I agree Seth, John, Parker and Nick have blogged religiously for NO PAY the last X-amount of years and for that I respect them.
It is not $10 that bothers me, I did buy Seth’s book and I will probably buy this book cause I respect Seth’s work, but the idea of nickelling and diming his loyal users for the work he used to provide for ‘free’ reminds me of the cable companies that use promotional offers to scheme customers.

Calling out Seth for trying to make a few bucks from his writing is pretty low. Of course we would all rather read Seth’s writing for free, but with how much time and energy he puts into this blog and his other writing ventures, the man has the right to make some kind of profit off of his work. If you don’t like it, then don’t buy it.
