I just heard now that former Twins minor leaguer Lee Martin passed away on Monday night in Arkansas. The 23 year old’s death is believed to be accidental, although details at this time are unclear.
Martin was drafted by the Twins in the 18th round of the June 2007 draft out of Southern Arkansas University. He went 2-1 with a 3.21 ERA with the GCL Twins that season. In 2008, he played for the Elizabethton Twins. He went 4-2 with a 4.60 ERA in 18 relief appearances. In November of 2008, he was released by the Twins.
Considering he played with the organization for such a short time, he had a lot of great relationships with many current Twins minor leaguers. I wish to send my condolences to them as well as his family and friends.

This sucks! My thoughts are with his family and friends
Hey Seth, thanks for posting the article about Lee Martin. I had the honor of playing with him for two years in Rookie ball and in E-town and he was one of the nicest kids I have ever met. He would light up the clubhouse when he was around and was such an awesome teammate. He will be missed so much but while he was alive, he left an impression on everyone that will never be forgotten.
thanks
