Lotsa Links

After writing the Minnesota Twins 2010 Prospect Handbook and helping out with the 2010 Twins Annual and doing some Twins coverage for a second magazine, and a two hour podcast, oh, and my regular 8-5, I needed a couple of days. So, today, I’ll really just be doing a blog of links so as not to have to think or type too much. So, forgive me. But again, I will be at Twins Fest throughout the weekend, so hopefully there will be an opportunity to meet many of you.

If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to e-mail me or leave them in the Comments section.

Dollars to donuts, Twins resign Cabrera. Gardy likes him [all important]& there doesn’t seem to be a rush to ink him as a shortstop. I am one of the VERY few people who think if we aren’t going after Hudson or Lopez [which seems to be the case], Cabrera is a good option.

And Cabrera plays what postion for the Twins? SS? no we got Hardy. 2B? No way Punto will get that position.
Twins need a 3B more than anything at this point and
I’m guessing Crede will be brought back to fill that slot.

It’d be really nice if Cuddyer could play a decent 3rd base. I would be happy with a lineup that looked like this:

    Span CF
    Mauer C
    Cuddyer 3B
    Morneau 1B
    Young RF
    Kubel LF
    Hardy SS
    Thome DH
    Punto/Harris 2B

I’m all for getting as many bats into the lineup as possible but not at the expense of risking injury to Kubel playing left field. Kubel gets better by the day. Tearing up his knees running around the outfield would be criminal. And Cabrera? I agree the Twins will likely go with Punto at second and a rotation at third. But if they add anyone, my guess is that it will be someone Gardy likes and knows–Cabrera–who could play second, moving Punto to third.
